History

The Original Oxford Community Chorus was organized by the Oxford Arts Council in January of 1982 to offer an outlet for singers in our area to participate in a high-quality performing group. Mr. Bill Barker was the Director and Bobbie McMahan was the Accompanist. The first concert was presented on July 5, 1982, at the Oxford Civic Center. The Chorus presented three additional concerts before disbanding in 1984.

The Oxford Community Chorus was reorganized by the Oxford Arts Council in June of 2014 with performances to be held at the new Oxford Performing Arts Center. Don Gober is the chorus Director and Jan Threadgill is the Accompanist. Their Spring Concert is to be presented on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 7:00 PM. All former members and others wishing to join are invited to attend.
