This morning, during a ceremony at the Oxford Civic Center, Hunter Gentry (OPAC Box Office Manager) was presented with the Calhoun Chamber of Commerce R.O.S.E. Award.

R.O.S.E. stands for Recognition of Service Excellence and is awarded to individuals who have exemplified excellent customer service to local patrons and visitors alike. Hunter does a great job at OPAC and we are very proud of his hard work.

Mr. Gentry has been a key player in the Oxford Performing Arts Center’s efforts to provide an excellent experience to each and every patron.  He is directly responsible for all patron services, including but not limited to: Box Office management, concession operations, volunteer program management, art gallery operations, and charitable outreach.  Mr. Gentry serves Oxford in his tremendous efforts to research and preserve the City’s unique history.  These efforts culminated in the opening of a special exhibition, “Oxford: At the Crossroads of History.” This exhibit was visited by over four-thousand patrons during a three-month period.  He is currently working to prepare the exhibition for permanent display at OPAC.  John Longshore, OPAC Executive Director, said, “As his supervisor, I have received perhaps hundred of positive compliments regarding his ability to serve patrons in a professional and welcoming manner.  The quality relationships he has developed with both local and out-of-town guest speak to his ability to serve as an excellent representative of our venue and region.”
