Know Before You Go
Welcome to the Oxford Performing Arts Center (OPAC), the premier arts and entertainment venue in downtown Oxford, Alabama. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience, please review the following information before your visit.
Location and Directions
OPAC is located at 100 Choccolocco Street, Oxford, Alabama 36203. For accurate navigation, enter "Choccolocco Street" (not "Choccolocco Road") into your GPS device. Estimated travel times under normal traffic conditions are approximately 50 minutes from Birmingham, 40 minutes from Gadsden, and 80 minutes from Atlanta.
Parking
We offer hundreds of free parking spots within a short walking distance of our main entrance. Accessible parking is available on Dewey Street, just west of the entrance. For detailed parking maps and additional information, please visit our Directions & Parking page.
Ticketing
Purchase tickets through our official channels: the OPAC website, by phone, or in person at the Box Office. This ensures ticket authenticity and the best available prices. Be cautious of secondary ticket markets, as we cannot guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through unauthorized sellers.
Arrival Time
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the event to allow time for parking, ticket scanning, and seating. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house manager during appropriate breaks in the performance.
Attire
There is no strict dress code at OPAC; guests are encouraged to dress comfortably. As theater temperatures can vary, consider bringing a light jacket or sweater, especially if you are sensitive to cooler environments.
Show Duration and Intermissions
Concerts typically last 90 minutes to two hours, while Broadway shows may run two to three hours. Many events include a 15 to 20-minute intermission. For specific details, refer to the event listing on our website.
Concessions
Our lobby offers a selection of soft drinks, bottled water, and theater candy. Concessions are available before the show and during intermissions.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on all three levels of the theater, with the largest facilities on the Studio level (lowest level), which often have shorter lines during intermission.
Accessibility
OPAC is committed to providing excellent service to all guests, including those with disabilities. Accessible seating, parking, and assistive listening devices are available. For specific accommodations, please contact the Box Office in advance.
Content Advisory
While many of our shows are family-friendly, some may contain mature themes. We encourage guests to research performances before purchasing tickets. For more information, contact the Box Office or visit our Show Content Information page.
